ITINERARY: Q’eswachaka Bridge Tour & 4 Lagoons 1 Day

The adventure begins at 04:00 hrs with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. We will then head in our tourist transport toward the South Valley for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Along the way, we’ll pass through various small traditional towns and mountain landscapes of the Cusco valley until we reach the town of Cusipata, where a delicious breakfast awaits us.

After breakfast, we’ll continue our journey to the first lagoon, Pomacanchi, where we’ll stop so our guide can explain its origin and the local flora and fauna. The second stop is Acopia Lagoon, where you’ll have time to take photos and learn more about its significance. We then proceed to the third lagoon, Asnaqocha, and finally the Pampamarca Lagoon. At each lagoon, we’ll observe various bird species and enjoy the fresh, peaceful mountain air.

After visiting the Four Lagoons circuit, we head to the town of Tupac Amaru II to visit his historic home — a place full of heroic and historical significance. Tupac Amaru, a descendant of the Inca lineage, led a rebellion against the Spanish oppressors and was later executed and dismembered in Cusco’s main square. We’ll also visit a small volcano nearby.

We’ll then travel to the Q’eswachaka Bridge, where our guide will explain the site and give you instructions to safely cross it. You’ll learn about the traditional construction techniques using ichu (Andean grass). After this experience, we’ll head to Ccolcca for a delicious lunch and begin our return to Cusco, arriving around 17:00 hrs, near the Plaza de Armas.
