HUMANTAY LAKE TOUR 1 DAY

DURATION: 1 DAY (approximately 12 to 13 hours).

ITINERARY:

Early in the morning at 4:00 hrs, you will be picked up from the hotel in Cusco and we will begin our trip in tourist transport to head northeast of the city of Cusco. On the way we will pass through different towns and hamlets until the town of Limatambo, from this point we will ascend towards the town of Mollepata. Place where we will have our buffet breakfast, then we will continue in our transport for about one more hour until we reach the end of the road called Soraypampa.

Arriving at Soraypampa, our guide will give us the respective recommendations and will give us the walking stick and here we will begin the walk towards the Humantay Lake.

The walk lasts approximately one hour and a half or two hours. If you wish, you can rent horses along the route (paid in cash and soles and at your own expense) arriving at Humantay Lake which is located at 4,200 meters (about 13,780 feet), We will be able to appreciate the beautiful landscape, the imposing view of the Humantay and Salkantay snow-capped mountains.

After a break, we will take all the photos, and our guide will explain more about the place and its enigmatic views. Later we will return by the same route walking again to Soraypampa, we will take our transportation and return to Mollepata, in this place we will enjoy a delicious lunch.

Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco and we will leave you at a point close to the Plaza de Armas arriving at 17:30 hrs. Approx.

• Optional horse rental: Negotiable price between 80  – 100 soles (approx. $25), to be paid directly to the owner, who will accompany you during the route guiding the horse.

• WARM CLOTHES: Mornings are cold and windy, while afternoons are dry and sunny.
• EXTRA MONEY IN SOLES: For personal expenses such as snacks, water or souvenirs.
• WOOL GLOVES: Important to protect yourself from the cold, especially when taking photos or enjoying the place.
• COMFORTABLE TREKKING SHOES: That provides good support during the hike.
• HAT OR CAP: To protect yourself from the sun.
• SUNGLASSES: To protect your eyes.
• SUNSCREEN: Important for sunny afternoons.
• WATER OR REHYDRATING DRINKS: To stay hydrated during the hike.
• ADDITIONAL SNACKS: Bring nuts, chocolate bars or cookies for energy.
