Itinerary

ITINERARY Super Sacred Valley Tour 1 Day:

In the morning at approximately 06:30 Hrs. we will pick you up at your hotel or accommodation in Cusco, then we will start the tour of the Super Sacred Valley of the Incas, we will go by bus to the town of Chinchero.

Arriving at the archaeological park of Chinchero, which is characterized by the existence of a colonial Catholic church that is built on an Inca palace, a sign of the imposition of the Catholic religion on the Andean culture upon the arrival of the conquerors, as well as the existence of places of religious use, huacas

and more. Chinchero is also characterized by its textiles produced in an artisanal way with techniques acquired from generation to generation since the Inca era. You can visit a textile center to appreciate these processes of obtaining colors based on natural products for dyeing different wools, whether llama or alpaca.

After Chinchero we will go in our transport to the archaeological park of Archaeological site of Moray, circular agricultural terraces, the only circular ones of all the Inca constructions referred to as terraces, the function that it fulfilled was that of an experimental site for the obtaining and domestication of products and varieties such as corn, potato, olluco among others. In addition, we will be able to appreciate a scenic beauty of mountains, snow-capped mountains considered apus or deities in Inca times.

Then we will go to Salt mines of Maras, characterized mainly by the existence of water sources with sodium chloride that come from the mountain, which make possible the existence of salt at more than 3000 meters above sea level. There are approximately 3800 salt production ponds, which make this attraction have an exceptional scenic beauty.

Immediately after, we will take our transport to the town of Urubamba where we have scheduled our buffet lunch, and thus taste the Peruvian Andean cuisine, in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

After our pleasant buffet lunch, we took the bus to the Archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, named after the Inca General Ollanta, famous for his romance with an Inca princess, daughter of Pachacútec. In this park we saw megalithic stones weighing approximately 45 tons, carved in pink porphyry rock, as well as rooms used for religious purposes, water fountains and inns, which also served as a supply or resting place.

Afterwards to Ollantaytambo, we head to the town of Pisac traveling along the banks of the Vilcanota River which forms the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Arriving at the Archaelogical site of Pisac we will visit this Inca citadel located on top of the mountain, to learn about the Inca neighborhoods, the cemetery, the terraces and their functions.

We will then descend by bus to the district of Pisac, where you can visit and see some of the local crafts related to Andean metallurgy.
