In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 05:00 AM and drive you to the Ollantaytambo train station (approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes by car).
Once at the Ollantaytambo train station, we will board the panoramic VISTADOME OBSERVATORY train to head to the town of Aguas Calientes (approximately a 2-hour train journey). During the train ride, we will enjoy beautiful and charming landscapes with mountains and jungle from southern Peru. This train features panoramic windows and an Observatory car, offering the best way to visit Machu Picchu. We will immerse ourselves in authentic Andean culture with live Andean music and a traditional Saqra dance performance. On the route to Machu Picchu, we will be able to move between the panoramic car and the elegant observatory car, fully enjoying the onboard experience. Snacks made with Andean ingredients are included.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu village), a member of our staff (guide or transfer) will be waiting for us to provide any necessary instructions before we head to the bus station. We will board the bus that makes a zigzagging 30-minute climb up the mountain to the entrance of the majestic Machu Picchu Citadel, located at 2,430 meters (7,970 feet) above sea level.
After getting off the bus, we will meet with the group and head to the entrance control, where we will present our ticket and identification. Then, we will begin a guided tour of the Machu Picchu citadel, which will last approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. The guide will share the fascinating history of the Incas, the impressive architecture, and the deep spiritual significance of this site as we explore the most iconic areas. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy panoramic views and take unforgettable photos of this world wonder.
At the end of the tour, we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch (not included) at one of the local restaurants, spend free time in the village, visit the medicinal hot springs, or explore the artisan market.
At 16:22, we will take the return train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo (approximately a 2-hour train journey), where our transport will take us back to the city of Cusco. The estimated arrival time in Cusco is around 8:30 PM, depending on the tour start time.
